Brooklyn Roots, Desert Soul

Mario Del Guidice left Brooklyn with a head full of family recipes and found his home in the Coachella Valley. That was 1972 — and the sauces have been simmering fresh every morning ever since.

Great place for your traditional Italian food! I was in town for a triathlon, thought I’d check out Mario’s for my pre-race dinner and wasn’t disappointed! Spaghetti aglio e olio were great, so was the tiramisu! Service was great, comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely love this family restaurant! Chef Mario and his team welcome everyone to their restaurant and the food is delicious. Chicken Marsala, Ceasar salad and soups were terrific! True gem of a family owned restaurant in the valley.
